It's Thanksgiving time. The WesFoodie hopes you have a wonderful, warming, filling and most scrumptous meal with your family. I'm going to take this occasion to write a short note on a very serious food matter and I hope you will forgive my indulgence - I know you didn't come here to read about hunger.
Friends, this Thanksgiving week thirty five million Americans are struggling to feed themselves and their families. Of the thirty five million, eleven million people will go hungry tonight, in our country.
This week the United States government responded by issuing a report that changed the terminology so that there are no "hungry" in America anymore - thirty five million of our fellow Americans who cannot feed themselves or their children are according to the Administration people who have "very low food security."
